Rev. James Keller and his family began work with the Burmese in 1998 while he was a student at Concordia Theological Seminary and serving at his fieldwork site, New Life Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne. Visiting Asian markets, meeting Burmese refugees, and learning Burmese from a Buddhist monk were all experiences that prepared him for his vicarage and call to New Life to work among the nearly 6,000 Burmese who live in Fort Wayne. Pastor James was ordained in June 2001, and in June 2002 he began a separate bilingual worship service for the Burmese. Up to that time, the Burmese had attended the New Life worship service.
The ministry of LAMB is to train and equip evangelists, Bible teachers, pastors, and missionaries for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to plant churches among the Burmese people. Since March 2013, Pastor James Keller also serves as Senior Pastor of New Life Lutheran Church.
Pastor James is married to Annette, and their missionary family includes: Gwen, Peter, Felicia, Parker, MaryJane, Glory, Jessica, Elizabeth and Anna.
The Kellers serve as foreign missionaries in their hometown and ask for your continued prayers and financial support to bring Jesus to the Burmese and the Burmese to Jesus. They are joined in ministry by Taylor Htoo Aung, medical “deaconess,” the Bible Women, the LAMB Board, and others on their team of faithful volunteers, prayer warriors, and donors.
